As someone who has had Hepatitis C and successfully gone through treatment and cleared it, I understand only too well the fear and ignorance that surrounds the virus.
This can range from the general public's perception and stigmatisation, to sometimes a lack of knowledge from professionals and inaccurate information and ideas held by those suffering from it themselves.
C-Level was set up by a group of interested and concerned social care professionals, who worked first hand with those affected by Hep C and who recognised the need to provide information, education and advice in a language that was easy to understand.
This ethos lives on today and C-Level has evolved to an organisation providing training and support in the community to those affected and to those who work with them, helping to dispel some of the myths that are still out there to this day.
As a service user I greatly benefited from speaking with someone from C-Level about my condition and was encouraged to go on the treatment. As Chair of the Board I am proud to be involved in promoting and developing the work of the organisation and ensuring that there is continued support for those affected by Hep C.
